The Alcoa Foundation recently announced the donation of $20,000 to our organization to construct a waterfall and pond for our 28,000 square foot eagle aviary. In past years we have relied on relatively small “play pools” to supply water to our injured and recuperating bald eagles. This made for significant ineffiencies and less than adequate access to water which is part of the bald eagle’s natural habitat.
This new water feature will significantly enhance our eagle aviary providing our eagles in our care with fresh moving water. We are looking forward to the start of construction scheduled for August 2008.
